Aztec Engineering LLC was formed in 1989 by Richard Martin to provide chemical and combustion engineering services for the refining and petro-chemical industries with specific emphasis on low NOx burner design and application. Following is a listing of experience and achievements.

Education:

  • BS, Mechanical Engineering, University of Tulsa, 1965
  • MS, Mechanical Engineering, University of Tulsa, 1967
  • Ph.D., Chemical Engineering, University of Tulsa, 1971  

Experience:

  • Eighteen years with John Zink Company in various engineering and management positions
  • Ten years with Callidus Technologies as Vice President of the Burner Division and Chief Technical Officer
  • Six Years at Oral Roberts University as Professor of Engineering
  • Certified Department of Energy PHAST Specialist and Senior Instructor.

Training:

  • Fourteen years teaching the John Zink Burner School for engineers and operators.
  • Ten years teaching the Callidus Technologies Burner School for engineers and operators.
  • Over two thousand students have attended the above schools
  • Developed the original written instructional materials for both burner schools.
  • Developed the Trainer© fired heater simulator and accompanying instructional materials.
  • Six years teaching thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics at Oral Roberts University.
